Problem:
The Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County (CACSC) did not have a conducive building space to offer all the services they needed to, so they took over an old elementary school building with space to create a one-stop crisis center, utilizing a co-location model with 11 other agencies. The building had some serious mechanical issues and an equipment retrofit became necessary. The goal was to create a safe and comfortable environment to allow children to feel at ease and employees to produce the best possible service all under one roof.

Solution:
BCS used LG ERV’s and multiple VRF systems to replace the outdated chiller. The ERV system, or energy recovery ventilator, expels stale air and delivers fresh, clean tempered air from outside. This is important for people who spend most of their time indoors. VRF systems have one of the lowest life cycle costs of any system on the market today. The benefits are numerous; modern style cassettes with mirrors for a sleek interior design, less piping and ductwork and sustainable energy efficiency. The VRF system has industry leading tested sound levels and electrical efficiency which helped provide higher comfort for people using the CACSC’s facility.
