James Herrman

CEO | President

James joined Building Controls and Services when he was 16 years old. He has been involved in every aspect of BCS since then, including installation, project management, engineering and sales. He has maximized opportunities for BCS and grown the company by expanding our products and services offerings. He is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and business decisions of the company. He strategizes on the direction of the business and takes calculated risks to move the company forward. Listening to customers’ requests, offering exceptional customer service and adding energy-efficient products has not only allowed for continued growth of BCS, but has also helped in building a more sustainable Kansas.

Todd Dickey

Chief Operating Officer

Todd has over 25 years of experience in mechanical construction, project and operations management. As the Chief Operating Officer, Todd oversees project scheduling and delegation of manpower and resources for projects. He works closely with the operations team to ensure proper training, quality work, excellent project management and clear communication internally and externally. Todd’s strong communication skills, customer-centric point-of-view, patience and coolness under pressure ensure that all BCS jobs run smoothly to completion. Through years of experience, he’s learned to listen, collaborate effectively, and manage numerous, complex, installation tasks simultaneously. Todd understands how to identify issues and address them head on. Communication is absolutely key. He is most proud of his management of the Strategic Energy and Maintenance Program at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. The team replaced 400 terminal units, retrofit controls, upgraded the central plant all while the hospital continued to function fully with no downtime.

Hannah Scott

Chief Administrative Officer

Hannah is fluent in sign language, plays the harp and aspires to one day produce the food necessary to sustain her family from her own land. She enjoys raising Scottish Highland cattle, cooking with her farm fresh eggs and designing interior/exterior spaces with her “super handy” husband. She is the mother of two children and being a mother is her greatest joy.

A graduate of Wichita State University with a background in business, marketing and account management, Hannah is the Chief Administrative Officer.

She exercises her creativity while strategically streamlining business processes. Aside from her ability to articulate the needs and goals of a project, Hannah is a skilled curator of culture. She is passionate about people, communication and bringing out each team member’s unique genius in order accomplish the mission. At BCS, she has learned to embrace new challenges, no matter how daunting they may be. It always seems impossible until it is done!

Jason Burke

Director of Operations

Jason is a Wichita native with a knack for team building and years of management experience. Jason worked in the Oil and Gas industry for 15 years and worked in custom machine design and automation prior. Jason believes people are the hardest part of a business but are also the best and most rewarding. Jason oversees the day-to-day activities for our operations department and his main goal is to have the entire team pointed in the right direction.

Tim Pile

Business Development | Marketing Team Lead

Tim has a BA in Communications at WSU and got his start in the industry in AV Design, then finding his passion in the Client Relations field. He enjoys working with customers and has found his strengths are in building and preserving trusting relationships. Tim is married with two boys, Oliver and Levi, and really enjoys anything gear head related. 

Nathan Reed

Business Development Representative

Nathan comes to us after spending 22 years in education (WOWZA!). A former Superintendent, he was ready to switch gears to the HVAC industry as a Business Development Representative, focusing on K-12 schools. Nathan has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Fort Hays State University and upped the ante by getting his doctorate from Wichita State University! A man who prides himself on loyalty, and wanting the greater good for all, building relationships with others comes as a breeze. When he isn’t dedicating his life to work, he is golfing, hunting, fishing, and traveling with his wife and two boys. 

Monica Nguyen-Francis

Marketing Manager

Monica is one of those rare people who can connect with anyone and everyone. She is energetic, detail-oriented, curious, and ambitious, which is exactly what makes her a great addition to BCS. Monica’s dynamic personality, partnered with her elite people skills, allows her to provide excellent client service and foster genuine, lasting working relationships and friendships.

A graduate of the University of Kansas School of Journalism, Monica received her bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication and is a devoted Jayhawk. Married to a rival Mizzou Tiger, she and her husband, Brian, enjoy traveling abroad and hosting friends and family at their newly renovated home in Olathe, Kansas.

Hannah Howerton

Marketing Coordinator

Hannah graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, concentrating on Graphic Design and Photography. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, and dog Cooper. She came to BCS as a marketing intern and is excited to see how her career continues to grow here. She has learned that communication is the foundation of all good relationships and continues to hone in on that skill as she develops professionally. When she is not at work, she enjoys film photography, reading books, hiking, and baking!

Brian Hatridge

Sales Team Lead

Brian is not afraid to get his hands dirty to solve a problem. As a former consulting engineer, Brian is a hard-working self-starter, focused on how all building systems work together. His role at BCS allows him to build long-term relationships as a trusted partner to help customers get the most out of their facility investments. Brian’s motto is “No challenge is too difficult that a solution can’t be found!” A BCS team member since 2001, he has used his experience and background to anticipate project specific needs and potential roadblocks for his customers. As a movie buff, Brian’s favorite movie quote is… well, there are just too many to count!

Jacob Bonkowski

Sales Team Lead

Jacob Bonkowski is a vital and dynamic member of our team, bringing a unique blend of expertise and charisma to his work. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Jacob’s diverse background in mechanical systems, equipment and controls makes him well-versed in various HVAC challenges and scenarios.

Described by industry friends and coworkers as witty, helpful, and caring, Jacob’s approachable demeanor contributes to a collaborative and engaging environment. Originally from Kansas City, Jacob’s passion for his hometown sports teams spills into the dedicated time he spends coaching his son’s baseball, football, and basketball teams. As a certified Dance Dad, he is also an expert bedazzler of his daughter’s competition costumes. A true family man first, Jacob’s multifaceted personality and commitment to both work and personal pursuits make him a valued and well-respected member of our team.

Mark Galimi

Sales Team Lead | Application Engineer

A graduate of Wichita State University, Mark is constantly looking to expand his knowledge. He plays a key role in the success of the sales team, working alongside team members to deliver solutions that exceed customer expectations. His professional strengths include passion and drive to go the extra mile. Mark’s background in design engineering for smaller HVAC equipment has equipped him to excel in his role at BCS.

Originally from the Wichita area, Mark is enjoying exploring his new home in Kansas City. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, woodworking, and traveling as often as he can.

Sales Team Lead

Coming from an HVAC/Construction industry background for the majority of his career, Spencer is excited to continue his journey at BCS. His strengths include finding technical solutions for customers and offering an authentic sales mindset. He enjoys being a team player and the high focus BCS puts on their culture. He, his wife, and children reside in Kansas City and are avid Chiefs fans. Go CHIEFS!

Steve Mankins

Sales Team Lead

A veteran at our company, Steve joined Building Controls & Services in 1989 as a service technician and has experienced a plethora of different positions since. Steve has a great knowledge and experience with building automation controls and mechanical service, previously serving as the Service Manager and Senior Account Executive. Customers appreciate Steve’s knowledge and excellent customer service. Steve has become a valuable asset to the BCS team, propelled by dedication and work ethic. His hobbies outside of work include backpacking in the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico, including 14ers, fishing with friends and traveling with his wife to wonderful destinations.

Brandon Bulla

Account Sales Executive

Brandon believes that to be successful, you must treat everyone you meet like they are your best customer. Fearlessly leading the HVAC Controls team for Wichita and Kansas City, Brandon understands customer needs and what it takes to develop solutions, whether by maintaining critical environment, supporting facility management or reducing energy consumption. While at BCS, Brandon has learned what real customer support looks like, and he does it well. Outside of work, Brandon enjoys his family and working with his hands.

Clint Summers

Sales Team Lead

Clint leads the team’s sales and customer service efforts. His comfort in working through difficult situations and bringing people together through exceptional communication have been an incredible benefit to BCS. Passionate and focused on growth through improving efficiency and building relationships, he is constantly fueling the team’s fire. Outside of BCS, Clint enjoys spending time with his wife and four kids. Together, they enjoy being active outdoors, watching movies, and enjoying the thrill of traveling / exploring new places. 

Connor Olberding

Account Sales Executive

Striving for excellent customer care, Connor specialized in Desigo Migrations and has now moved to the sales side where he can assert his exceptional customer relations skills. Never looking at the same problem twice, Connor is driven to find a solution for any and all challenges thrown his way. Outside of BCS, Connor enjoys working on cars and writing music!

Jacob Horsch

Account Sales Executive

Growing up in a small town, Jake knows a thing or two about hard work. He has done every job from farming to landscaping, construction, and customer service. He holds three values true: work hard, be patient, and be a good teammate. A graduate of Wichita State University with a BBA in Management and Marketing, he is excited to be a part of the BCS team. In his free time you can find him outdoors fishing, hunting, playing sports, or going to the lake.

Kevin Reid

Account Sales Executive

An old timer at BCS who has been married to his wife for 30 years, Kevin is an Owner Direct Account Executive here at BCS. Kevin leverages his 25+ years of experience in the field to help customers find solutions to their unique needs. One thing his time at BCS has taught him is that the big diversity of customers and products that BCS has, allows an individual to learn just about anything in this industry.

Lance Loganbill

Account Sales Executive

Suited with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wichita State University, Lance excels in his position at BCS. He oversees the commissioning of projects and attends to customer needs that pertain to project development and solutions. Lance has learned that despite complicated systems, with the support of his coworkers, he is able to develop a solution that is best for the customer.

Chris Betts

Sales Engineer

Delivering solutions, not compromises. Chris Betts, an avid golfer, sports fanatic and family man, works by this motto. Coming from a background in kitchen ventilation design and sales, Chris is now an eager Equipment Sales Engineer, where he promotes, educates and supports customers. One of his greatest lessons from his time so far at BCS is learning how to look at projects from different perspectives to engineer solutions that lead to better outcomes.

Dan Moresi

Sales Engineer

Dan graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Degree from MIZZOU in 2011, and has been in the HVAC industry ever since. Passionate about working with Engineers and Owners to design the best and most efficient HVAC system possible, he is a great addition to our Sales team.

Dan has a been married 5 years, has 2 dogs, and welcomed a beautiful baby boy in December 2022. He loves being outdoors whether it’s to golf, hunt, fish, or work out. Being a diehard Cardinals fan, he already has all the red gear needed to rep BCS!

Evan Curl

Sales Engineer

A graduate of Kansas State University with a Mechanical Engineering degree and MBA, Evan is excited to contribute to the amazing culture at BCS. Having played football at K State from 2015-2019, one of his favorite accomplishments was starting a game vs. the Texas Longhorns, his childhood team. When he isn’t working to build connections and relationships at work, you will find him on the golf course or restoring his two classic cars: 71 El Camino SS and 62 Chevy truck.

John Martin

Sales Engineer

John joined the BCS team in 2011 after 20 years as a consulting engineer. With diverse experience through hundreds of projects in the healthcare, education, commercial and industrial building sectors, John tailors equipment solutions to enhance the performance of building mechanical systems, and is genuinely passionate about helping his customers build their best facility. After years in the industry, John has learned the importance of curiosity and patience to find difficult answers. No matter the complexity of the problem, the solution is often simple. Additionally, John has a beautiful family and enjoys spending time with them outside of work, particularly watching his kids run track. 

Mani Dhillon

Sales Engineer

Before coming to BCS, Mani gained vast experience working as an inside sales engineer and technician. Unlike many, Mani relishes in stressful environments because it allows him to maintain focus and efficiency for the task at hand. Mani gladly takes on any challenge that offers a learning experience, which is part of the reason he is currently enrolled in the MBA program at KU Edwards.

Adam Kutney

Sales Engineer

Adam Kutney started his engineering career as a designer for a large MEP firm, but with an eagerness to use his communication skills to build strong relationships, he made the switch to BCS. With his expertise in mechanical design, Adam excels in effectively conveying complex technical concepts to clients and colleagues alike.

Adam is an active member of ASHRAE and the Institute of Energy Efficiency (IEE), showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and industry engagement. As a proud alumnus of Benedictine College, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a basketball scholarship, Adam’s combination of technical proficiency and interpersonal skills makes him a great asset to the team.

Julie Volking

Sales Bid Coordinator

Julie works side by side with our application engineers and bid coordinator. She has 20 years of office and sales administration experience and enjoys being a part of the BCS Team. Julie is an eager learner and strives to continually develop and sharpen her skill set. Julie is a proud wife and mother to twin daughters who she enjoys spending her free time with. Some of their favorite activities include hiking and vacationing in Colorado. One of Julie’s biggest and most difficult accomplishments was obtaining her degree from WSU as a working wife and mom.

Mayra Rodriguez

Sales Bid Coordinator

Mayra is a Mexico native and is bilingual in English and Spanish. She is powered by tequila and tacos and can be found thriving in wildflower fields. She is quirky, fun, and a great addition to our team! Having 9 years of experience in the construction industry, Mayra brings a magnitude of knowledge with her. She is ambitious, loves learning, and hits the ground running on any and all challenges. We were able to pluck her from the wild because our culture called to her, and she couldn’t resist the sweet sound of a company who shares her values. Mayra is going to thrive in her new habitat as she brings her passion and strategic thinking to our sales team.   

Caleb Walker

Application Engineer

A Wichita State University graduate, Caleb worked as an Application Engineer Intern for three years at BCS before accepting a full-time position. From learning to designing various systems and using many useful programs, Caleb is excited to grow in his career at BCS! In his free time, he enjoys road trips, paintball, golfing, lifting weights, fishing, and playing video games. You may catch him on a beach or in the mountains!

Christopher Brockish

Applications Engineer

Christopher graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 2021. He then interned with a metal roofing manufacturer before taking a job with BCS after graduation. His career has brought him valuable insight into knowing a good job becomes a great job based on how well the organization is run. The workplace culture is what brought Christopher to BCS. He is most excited about the people he gets to work with.

Rohullah Faqiri

Application Engineer

Hardworking. Dedicated. Ambitious. Unstoppable. 

Rohullah grew up in Afghanistan where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Kabul University.  He moved to the US in November 2021, and has been working at BCS ever since! With a sales and design background, Rohullah learned how to deal with people and work under pressure. He also learned that success comes from risk and accountability.

Rohullah loves soccer, chess, and since being in the US, KC Chiefs football! He brings the heartfelt energy daily, and we are so lucky to have him on our team!

Sam Gall

Application Engineer

A graduate from the University of Missouri with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Sam supports our sales executives and customers with equipment selections, layouts and pricing. Sam is detail oriented and methodical, he can define high-level, creative plans and see those ideas through to completion. Sam has learned that everyone has their individual motivations and it is important to understand those in order to come to the best solution when tackling an issue. In Sam’s free time, he enjoys woodworking, playing with his son, and helping his wife with their horses on their small acreage.

Justin Cooper

Estimator/Lead Bid Coordinator

Always treat the customer right; without customers, we don’t have jobs. That’s Justin’s motto. Staying true to this has made Justin excellent in his position where he helps coordinate bids and communicate with contractors to accommodate to their needs. When he’s not satisfying his customers, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys, watching or playing sports and enjoying their saltwater fish.

Austin Barnes

Territory Sales Representative

Austin has been in sales for about 10 years and brings that expertise to our team as our Territory Sales Representative. When he’s not working diligently with customers, he enjoys the outdoors, playing basketball, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. They have made it a family mission to start traveling more in hopes of visiting various beaches, and it has resulted in some of the best vacations to date.

Ben has been in the HVAC industry for over 12 years now. He is a firm believer that knowledge is power, too much information is not possible. He is a diligent note taker and excited to see how his career grows on the RLC side! When Ben isn’t dedicating his life to his work, he is attending Chiefs games as a season ticket holder. But his most prized possession is his super adorable daughter who he recognizes as “The Best Daughter in the World”. What a sweet kid she must be!

Mindy Becker

Service Manager

Mindy is a straight shooter who spits comedic gold and believes that a positive culture is everything. Happy People = A Thriving Business. Coming to us with 9 years of HVAC industry experience, Mindy is excited to be leading our service team and exploring the next level of HVAC and controls. Her passions are reading, fishing, listening to music, spending time with her 3 kids, and building/motivating staff so they may grow into leadership roles. She doesn’t shy away from challenges and looks forward to the adventure of learning new things. 

Matt McAllister

Controls Field Manager

No task is too large or too small for this incredibly hard worker. Matt believes that quality work will save you time in the long run and provide better service to his customers. He is most proud of his career, his work ethic, and the chance to excel at a company he believe wholeheartedly in. Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and 5 children, fishing, and accomplishing woodworking projects.

Robin Belew

DDC Team Lead

Robin started with BCS as an installer in 2008. He then spent 5 years in Healthcare as Director of Facilities before rejoining BCS in 2013. He is not afraid to ask questions and always learns through doing. “I always enjoy a challenge and learning something new. And there are new challenges and things to learn every day at BCS.” Married for 14 years, Robin has two kids and in his free time enjoys camping, hiking, and being outdoors.

David Stockemer

MSD Team Lead

David Stockemer has been an HVAC Service Technician for almost 20 years. He is a yoga teacher, music producer, and guitar player. David loves to snowboard, longboard, and trek. He is very grateful for all of his awesome family and friends. David is just proud to be a part of something bigger than himself. Doing his part in society and being reliable day after day is what he prides himself on.

Jenifer Armstrong

Service Coordinator

A self-motivated team player with exceptional communication and organizational skills. Coming to BCS with 10 years of administrative experience, Jenifer provides the ultimate helping hand(s) to any team. To quote one of her favorite sayings by Henry Ford, “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is success.”

Joe Piacenza

MSD Team Lead

Joe not only has been in the commercial HVAC industry for 35+ years, but has been with BCS for 14 of those wonderful years! He focuses on giving the job his all but not letting himself get overwhelmed. In his free time he enjoys sailing, scuba diving, and spending time with his grandkids.

Paul Turpin

Parts Store Manager

Paul Turpin is a customer-centric motivated employee, always finding answers and solutions for customers. Paul has uniform certifications in mechanical and plumbing code, along with a medical gas and backflow certification. With several years of experience in the HVAC service world, Paul can answer all of your project management needs. Outside of BSC, Paul enjoys home remodeling, traveling and rooting on K-State. Go Wildcats!

Ryan Spaedy

Parts Store Manager

Ryan is an animal-loving, golfing, sports fanatic (with a large collection of sports memorabilia) responsible for maintaining and organizing BCS Parts Overland Park. Coming to us with a vast experience in retail public working, managing pet stores, and with six years of warehouse experience, we’re confident in Ryan’s capabilities to build strong relationships with customers and provide appropriate solutions for BCS Parts. Did we mention Ryan loves animals? He currently owns two dogs, a bird, lizard, snake and fish aquarium.

Marco Lopez

Customer Service Representative

A California native, Marco has been in Customer Service for over 20 years. He graduated from Shawnee Mission South and attended Johnson County Community College. Marco enjoys meeting new people and making impactful connections. Within Customer Service, he stands true to having empathy, being honest, kind, and thorough. He is a sports nut and loves to travel all over the country to attend games.

Sara Weber

Project Material Planner

Sara lives on a farm with her husband, 2 dogs, 4 goats, 2 pigs, 1 bull, and about 100 chickens, where they grow and harvest wheat, soybeans, and milo (WOWZA is right!). When she’s not at the farm, she is working diligently to keep our distribution center running efficiently as a Project Material Planner. Outside of farming and work life, she is usually attending dance recitals and sporting events for her niece and nephew.

Nick Cox

Parts Specialist

Nick excels at providing extraordinary customer service and paying attention to the details. He is very passionate about completing any task to the best possible outcome. In the ever-evolving facility equipment industry, Nick has learned that there is something new to learn daily and to never stop pursuing new knowledge. Before joining the BCS team, Nick inspected and repaired fire/smoke dampers for five years in over 100 hospital facilities across 13 states and has experience working in an HVAC distribution warehouse. Nick is married and in his free time enjoys riding motorcycles and 4x4s, fishing, hunting, being outdoors and anything that gets his adrenaline pumping!

Timothy Gosnell

Inside Sales Specialist

Being in the filter industry with an IT background for over 15 years, Timothy Gosnell, Inside Sales Specialist, prides himself on the plethora of skills he’s accumulated, always providing impeccable customer service, and the various connections he’s made along the way. Being a father of SIX, work-life balance is important to Timothy; being able to spend time with his family and friends is essential to his everyday life. He is excited to see how his skills will help the team succeed!

Chad Ward

Warehouse Coordinator

Chad pulls and stages orders for shipping, receives incoming shipments, and runs pickup and deliveries for the Wichita BCS Parts store. Equipped to support the part store’s fast-paced environment, he excels in attention to detail, teamwork, and punctuality. Born and raised in Wichita, KS, Chad joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1998 and repaired ships for four years at Integrated Support Command St. Louis. As a member of the Emergency Response Team, he gained valuable experience for effectively delivering results in stressful, time sensitive situations.

Jason Burke

Director of Operations

Jason is a Wichita native with a knack for team building and years of management experience. Jason worked in the Oil and Gas industry for 15 years and worked in custom machine design and automation prior. Jason believes people are the hardest part of a business but are also the best and most rewarding. Jason oversees the day-to-day activities for our operations department and his main goal is to have the entire team pointed in the right direction.

Aaron Barnes

Equipment Team Lead

Happily married with 3 children, Aaron enjoys being with his family, traveling, watching sports and outdoor activities. Aside from being a certified scuba diver, Aaron is an outstanding addition to our project management team. Overseeing security, equipment sales, controls and owner direct jobs, Aaron’s got it covered. Aaron never assumes anything and will take the extra steps to get the job done!

Beau Alarcon

Controls Team Lead

Beau is a father of 3 daughters, still active in the Army (since 2001), and enjoys kickboxing, working out, and jiu-jitsu. In his time at BCS he has excelled in our controls department, resulting in his promotion to Controls Team Lead. Beau thrives off a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to learn on the job daily. His ambitiously curious attitude coupled with the mindset of doing whatever it takes for the customer, has made him the perfect fit at BCS. We are glad he’s here!

Matt Ferguson

Controls Team Lead

Matt leads one of our Controls Teams out of our Kansas City location, but also enjoys being in the field doing service work for our controls customers. He has learned through his 12+ years of working with mechanical equipment, that no two projects are ever the same and there will always be something new to learn. When it comes to problem solving, Matt is our guy! In his free time, he enjoys the great outdoors and spending time with his wife and two children.

Nathan Quintana

Controls Team Lead

Nathan is from Colorado and enjoys fishing, camping, backpacking, and playing spikeball. A whiz at engineering, Nathan enjoys diving into a mechanical system and figuring out how to make it work. He has experience with mechanical design and construction across a variety of building types, such as: K-12, University and Commercial. Also, Go Broncos!

Sean Heaton

Controls Team Lead

A project manager for five years, Sean’s professional strengths lie in his attention to detail and problem-solving skills. He knows that fires don’t tend to put themselves out and swift, decisive action will reduce future flare-ups and collateral damage. Sean likes to unwind by playing video games or binge-watching TV shows on Netflix, especially SupernaturalThe Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. But most importantly, he enjoys spending time with his growing family.

Michael Schrant

Controls Team Lead

Michael loves the collaboration that happens between departments and the vast amount of knowledge he gains every day he’s on the job. He is a true believer in diving head first to learn the most you can about any given situation. Outside of work he enjoys tinkering and working on anything automotive related!

Shane Drape

Senior Project Manager

Shane Draper got his start in the construction industry more than a decade ago, flipping residential houses alongside his brother. Today, as a seasoned project manager, he now applies that experience to his current role executing high-level, complex projects and bringing them to completion. While planning, organizing, and directing the cost of subcontracting activities can be challenging, Shane gets fulfillment by seeing a project go from plans on paper to complete materialization.

 

Shane’s commitment to his craft and hardworking attitude that he brings to work every day makes him a great addition to the BCS team. When Shane is not implementing project installation plans and procedures, he enjoys playing rec league softball, golfing on nice days, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs with his family. 

Mike Bell

Equipment Project Manager

Mike feels like joining BCS was a homecoming due to his familiarity with BCS and their products/services. Mike has been in the HVAC industry since 2008, and has put an emphasis on building professional relationships. He believes it takes all sides working together to be successful, and rapport matters.

Mike has been married 23 years to his lovely wife Tiffany, has a son who is a senior at UMKC (soon on his way to law school), and 2 pups – Enzo (Ferrari) and his sidekick Mario (Andretti).

Every Spring, he and Tiffany enjoy getting the camper out and being on the road as much as possible!

Mike Shay

Equipment Project Manager

Having already been with BCS for nearly 7 years, Mike is excited to take on his new role as Equipment Project Manager! Mike went through electrical school and obtained his journeyman electrician license from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers back in 2014, then joined the BCS family shortly after. The values he holds, such as, keeping focused, staying positive, and always being eager to learn, have made him immensely successful in his career here at BCS. In his free time, Mike is usually with his wife and two children, watching sports, playing basketball, or spending time with friends.

Kelsey Perrill

Project Administrator

Kelsey has a strong background of leadership skills and is always looking to learn something new. She is a graduate of Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Justice Studies. In her free time she loves solving jigsaw puzzles, reading, and watching Netflix. She will also tell you it is no secret that she loves food and naps.

Dee-Dee Caudillo

Project Coordinator

Each day brings something new for Dee-Dee, learning the ropes as a newcomer to the HVAC Industry. Dee-Dee works side by side with our Project Management team and is not afraid of a challenge or even change, she enjoys bringing new ideas to the table. Outside of the office you’ll probably find Dee-Dee out at the ball fields cheering on her son’s baseball and daughter’s softball teams or watching baseball with her family, which is a house divided. Each family member likes a different team, GO BRAVES! One day, Dee-Dee and her husband hope to visit all 30 baseball stadiums with their children.

Caleb Zogleman

Controls Engineer

A native to Kansas, Caleb graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in music. As a BCS Design Engineer, Caleb assists in the implementation of commercial HVAC control systems. This includes controls programming, installation management, technical support, and customer service. He strives to provide top-notch customer service through effective communication and creative solutions. His passion for helping others drives his dedication to do what it takes to get the job done right. Effective communication and work ownership are two practices necessary to cultivate long term success. Having one without the other will eventually lead to a negative outcome. Caleb’s previous experience includes project management and the mechanical and hydraulic design of mass transfer equipment in the refining, chemical, petrochemical, and gas processing industries. Outside of the office, he spends time with his beautiful bride-to-be and church family – often playing guitar on the music team or helping with the student group.

Christopher Shellman

Controls Engineer

Born and raised in Wichita, KS, it has always been his dream to become an engineer. Chris was an intern at BCS for 1.5 years and graduated from Wichita State University with an Electrical Engineering degree. He has an eye for every detail to ensure each job or project is up to par! Chris enjoys getting his hands dirty, running wire, and making connections! He’s a great team player and enjoys working with our customers!

Cole Stinson

Controls Engineer

Having completed his Computer Science degree at The University of Kansas, Cole is ready to learn something entirely new as a Controls Engineer. He is passionate, ambitious, and prides himself on the ability to communicate well. He is excited to be in a collaborative environment where he can design, troubleshoot, and assist our customers on a daily basis.

Daniel Fayette

Controls Engineer

A Kansas State University graduate with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Daniel is excited to apply his knowledge in the industry! A competitive soul, whether it’s defeating a challenge or his family and friends in games/activities, he’s determined to come out on top! We are excited to see Daniel’s future here, and love his collaborative attitude.

Gus Morgan

Controls Engineer

A graduate from Wichita State University, Gus joined the BCS Team after interning his junior and senior years. Gus has great communication skills and is a quick learner, giving him an advantage to grasp the Building Automaton industry surrounding him. Gus handles submittals, graphics, technical support and quality customer service. While interning and now permanent employee with BCS, Gus has been able to assist the engineering and service teams with project deadlines. Team work is what Gus enjoys most at BCS and believes it’s what it takes for any successful project. In his free time, Gus enjoys bowling, camping and reading!

Jeff Vest

Controls Engineer

Jeff is an outdoor enthusiast who spends his spare time fishing or on the golf course. Being a father of 3 children who are actively involved in sports, definitely keeps him busy! Jeff has worked in the building automation industry for 15 years. During that time he has become an exceptional troubleshooter for controls and equipment, always finding a creative solution and control strategy to resolve the issue. He is customer focused and truly enjoys building relationships with his customers that last a lifetime.

John Henry Marx

Controls Engineer

A Wichita native, John Henry recently graduated from Kansas State University with his Mechanical Engineering degree. He is ready to use his problem solving skills and for some hands on work, splitting his time between office and field work. In 2015 he became an Eagle Scout and loves everything outdoors from: hunting, hiking, kayaking, riding his motorcycle, and competitive trap shooting. He is excited to begin his career and be part of the BCS team!

Jonathan Medina Mireles

Controls Engineer

A Wichita State University graduate with a Computer Engineering degree, Jonathan is excited to continue his career at BCS. He has worked with Bombardier in their flight test instrumentation department, along with NIAR within their digital twin lab. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, playing video games and working out. Within his career he has learned that no matter how much you think you know, you will always be learning something new.

Controls Engineer

Remington is a Wichita State University graduate with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. His experience before his role at BCS is a compilation of several manufacturing engineering internships while still being a full-time student. He has spent a few summers in faith-related roles around the Wichita area, as well as a summer up in Maine. Something valuable he has learned throughout his career is to never be afraid to ask questions and learning from someone more knowledgeable. Outside of work, Remington is an avid disc golfer and enjoys spending time with his friends or adventuring with his wife. 

Sidney Hose

Controls Engineer

Sidney grew up in Missouri before moving to Wichita to attend Wichita State University. He is eager to continue his career as part of the BCS team after having interned with us for a year. When he’s not working, he likes to focus on his two passions: cars and music!

Trenton Smith

Controls Engineer

Not only did Trenton graduate from Wichita State University, he also graduated from being an intern at BCS to being a full-time employee! He is well-versed in mechanical systems, HVAC programming, graphics, and controls. He has learned a lot in the last six months and is looking forward to what the future holds!

Trevor Ubert

Controls Engineer

Trevor is a graduate of Wichita State University and one of our talented Design Engineers. He enjoys the programming side of building automation and is eager to continue his education of the industry. Outside of work, Trevor enjoys playing basketball, guitar, and video games!

Tyler Mankins

Controls Engineer

Tyler has an Electrical Engineering degree from Wichita State University, interned at BCS right after, and has since worked his way through various departments to find the one he’s most passionate about as a Controls Engineer. His hobbies are riding his motorcycle, being outside, and cooking! He has learned in his career that hard work and determination will get you through difficult times. He is excited to continue to gain knowledge of all our systems here at BCS.

Zachary Taylor

Controls Engineer

Zach graduated from the University of Kansas with his BS in Mechanical Engineering. He was born in Des Moines, IA but grew up in Overland Park, KS. His family all lives in Kansas except for his sister who lives in Chicago. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and playing basketball. Zack interned with BCS in the summer of 2022. He really enjoyed the culture and people of the company. He found the work interesting and dynamic. Something valuable Zach has learned throughout his career is how to handle situations when things aren’t going according to plan, and how to work through adversity to get things done. He is determined, driven, and overall an incredible asset to our team!
 

Hannah Scott

Chief Administrative Officer

Hannah is fluent in sign language, plays the harp and aspires to one day produce the food necessary to sustain her family from her own land. She enjoys raising Scottish Highland cattle, cooking with her farm fresh eggs and designing interior/exterior spaces with her “super handy” husband. She is the mother of two children and being a mother is her greatest joy.

A graduate of Wichita State University with a background in business, marketing and account management, Hannah is the Chief Administrative Officer.

She exercises her creativity while strategically streamlining business processes. Aside from her ability to articulate the needs and goals of a project, Hannah is a skilled curator of culture. She is passionate about people, communication and bringing out each team member’s unique genius in order accomplish the mission. At BCS, she has learned to embrace new challenges, no matter how daunting they may be. It always seems impossible until it is done!

Paige Burdick

Human Resources Manager

Paige is a graduate from Wichita State University with a Human Resources and Management degree. Paige was a leader in her sorority and believes “You give life to what you give energy to.” Paige’s main focus at BCS is recruiting and onboarding, along with training and performance management and keeping track of our BCS fleet. She is all about teamwork and working towards what is best for the company. Outside of work, you will find Paige at the dog park or working out. One day Paige hopes to live in the country where she can surround herself with lots of dogs and goats.

Bob Merritt

Education Manager

Bob’s career started as a dealership heavy line technician, that path took him into training and management. He has taught courseware on four continents, including Asia! Married to his wife, Kristi they have four children together and love spending time with family. Bob holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern Oklahoma state and a Master’s Degree in Learning and Instructional Development from Wichita State University. Having years of experience in a variety of industries, Bob will head our training and BCS University. “When you stop learning, you stop leading.”

Kristine Thelen

Controller

With a Finance degree from Kansas State University, Kristine is using her organization and attention to detail to excel in her role as a BCS Staff Accountant! She thrives on doing excellent work and working her way into leadership roles, and outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, and watching K-State sports!

Tracy Rasmussen

Senior Accountant

Tracy works under our CFO with high-end financials and monthly and quarter-end processing. As a recent empty nester, Tracy and her husband have been using much of their time renovating their house and taking care of their cat. Tracy’s get er’ done attitude provides excellent results, whether that’s handling BCS finances or caring for their cat.

Andrew Linhardt

Staff Accountant

Andrew received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accounting from Wichita State University. He started in Public Accounting and learned that taxes weren’t for him, which led him to be a Staff Accountant on our team. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his wife and baby girl, cooking, painting, and building computers.

Something he’s learned in his career is that “There is always someone who knows something you don’t. The best thing you can do is find and keep those people around.” 

Melissa Smith

Administrative Assistant - ICT

Melissa comes to BCS with 20+ years of experience as an Administrative Assistant. She is an avid believer that you should constantly seek new knowledge, be a team player, and make every moment count. Melissa has one son who is grown and out of the house, and enjoys crafting, antique shopping, and spending time with family and friends!

Sheila Briscoe

Administrative Assistant - KC

With over 25 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, Sheila has worn many hats looking after people and providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of office. Her skills and personality help support the team and grow with the Lenexa office. Sheila is passionate about personal growth, chocolate, camping, motorcycles, and long road trips. A collector of cats, she has six, and hopes to someday invent a forcefield around her keyboard that will repel them.

Carmen Belew

PO Specialist

Carmen worked for USD 250 for 16 years, and 6 of those were on the admin/bookkeeping side of things (creating POs, making purchases, and paying vendors). She has learned that you must be flexible and organized (she loves organization) to be successful. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children. Her hobbies include camping, being active, and sewing/crafts.

Marlene Rush

Warranty Administrator

Marlene comes from a diverse background of work experiences and uses those to get an edge in our warranty department. She is a fierce family gal that believes family is the most valuable asset and works hard to ensure that both her professional and home life are successful.

Frank Sneller

System Administrator

Frank comes to BCS with over 15 years of IT experience and is a certified IT, Fiber Optic, HP, Dell, and Lenovo technician. He provides our employees the tools they need to get their job done, while securing BCS, employee, and customer data. One of Frank’s biggest professional accomplishments was helping save $1.2 million on a single Scada/Fiber upgrade project. In his free time, Frank enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 incredible kids!

Justus Dicus-Sulzman

IT Specialist

Justus is continuing his career at BCS permanently after successfully completing his internship! He studied IT at WSU tech and has Comptia A+, Server+, and Network+ certifications. Determined to learn the ins and outs of the IT world, he is dedicated to being resourceful and expanding his knowledge base. Justus loves hanging with his friends, playing pickles ball, and table tennis, but nothing comes before football Sundays! Let’s not even get him started on Italian food, yum!
