The Need:
American AgCredit needed to build a new regional headquarters in Wichita. The owner requested the highest quality, best looking, most energy efficient products and innovative application. Having seen the implementation and benefits of underfloor technology for an entire building, the owner requested the same system. This application is fraught with potential difficulties so American AgCredit needed a team that was up to the challenge.

Solution:
The underfloor application called for use of a complementary unit that has the ability to efficiently provide very dry, comfortable underfloor air that cools slightly into the 60s compared to a conventional system that might cool into the low 50s. This is very important as cold underfloor air would be objectionable to occupants and problematic to general building elements. Conventional units are not up to this task because they must inefficiently cool all underfloor air to a very cold temperature to provide any dehumidification.

BCS proposed the use of AAON DPAC units which have the ability to efficiently cool all underfloor air into the 60s while only dehumidifying a portion of air to low humidity level. This process is highly efficient. Additional building spaces such as training and conference rooms are outfitted with LG VRF Units, which offer sleek looking cassettes with less piping and ductwork than traditional systems. They have industry leading tested sound levels, making them the best choice for rooms where sound is a distraction. The building is connected using Direct Digital Controls (DDC). This gives users immediate access to their HVAC and lighting systems at the highest level.
